I see the pale stars rising

I’ve been making a lot of work over the last few years that I haven’t shared until now. Well past the peak of the junk journal craze in the crafting and art world, a friend suggested I make them and I thought they were too trendy for me to be interested in it - but I must have seen something online that really resonated with me at some point and I did decide to try it. I gave away all the early books I made while I worked to figure it out. It is quite a lengthy and thoughtful process to make a journal. I don’t like calling it a junk journal. In my case it’s filled with all the things I love, therefore the opposite of junk.

Here is a very small book made using a vintage book cover, hand dyed papers, small found ephemera, one of my poems printed on vellum paper, some old postage stamps, oracle cards by Claire Mack in one of the pockets, vintage maps & Italian paper. My recommended use for this particular journal: to write someone (or yourself) a love letter in it and layer in your own beautiful poems and findings.
